The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Pura religious tradition is usually associated with the Afro-Brazilian Umbanda religious tradition. The  philosophy of the Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Pura religious tradition believe that some of the Exus are messengers of the African Orishas (Saints) and also messengers of the Christian Church's belief in the malevolent forces of the Devil. The initiates of the Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Pura religious tradition believes that the spiritual forces (gods) of Exu and Pomba Gira are usually associated are spirits of darkness that need to evolve by doing good and charitable deeds.
