The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Malei religious tradition is an independent religious tradition which is not associated with any type of religious philosophy or theology of the Afro-Brazilian Umbanda religious tradition. The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Malei religious tradition believes that the spirits of Exu and Pomba Gira are Nkisi (Congo) Spirits and are manifestations of the Congo Spirit of the Kingdom of the Congo called Aluvaia/ Bombojila. Aluvaia is seen as the male aspect of the spirit and Bombojila is seen as the female aspect of this spirit. The spirit mysteries of the Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Malei religious tradition are kept inside of spirit vessels known as "Nganga". The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda Malei religious tradition is known magically as the most powerful of all of the other Quimbanda religious traditions found in the present day country of Brazil.
